Introductory Flight
An Introductory Flight is the perfect first step into General Aviation and Flight Training. It consists of a local flight with one of our instructors in which you get to know the airplane and the flight training environment, often for the first time. Under the guidance of our qualified instructors, you will be in the pilot’s seat (yes, the “left seat”) of one of our aircraft and will be at the controls most of the time.
After a pre-flight briefing, you will proceed to the flight which lasts approximately 45 minutes. The instructors will gently introduce you to the flight controls and will let you experience the aircraft through the fundamental maneuvers (climb, straight-and-level, turns, and descents). This is indeed an introductory flight lesson, so it will count toward your training if you decide to continue.
You can also bring a friend (subject to airplane availability), take as many pictures as you want, and we will make sure that you have a great time!
Introductory Flights typically take about 45 minutes (30 minutes flying time) but can be scheduled for a longer duration if you prefer. Prices are pro-rated to the actual duration of the flight. Please, ask us when you book your flight what the current rates are for the airplane you will be flying in.
To schedule an Introductory Flight, call our Front Desk at 979-260-6322, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, every day, including weekends. There is no need for special paperwork, but we do need to coordinate a few things: date, time, airplane availability, instructor availability, let us know if you are bringing a friend, and approximate weight. We also recommend that you leave us a phone number to reach you. In this way, we will be able to call you in case there is a change of plans due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We recommend thinking ahead about possible alternative dates for a (literal) rain check.
