An Introductory Flight is the perfect first step into General Aviation and Flight Training. It consists of a local flight with one of our instructors in which you get to know the airplane and the flight training environment, often for the first time. Under the guidance of our qualified instructors, you will be in the pilot’s seat (yes, the “left seat”) of one of our aircraft and will be at the control most of the time.
After a pre-flight briefing, you will proceed to the flight which lasts approximately 45 minutes. The instructors will gently introduce you to the flight controls and will let you experience the aircraft through the fundamental maneuvers (climb, straight-and-level, turns, and descent). This is indeed an introductory flight lesson, so it will count toward your training if you decide to continue.
You can also bring a friend (subject to airplane availability), take as many pictures as you want, and we will make sure that you have a great time!
Introductory Flights typically take about 45 minutes (30 minutes flying time) but can be scheduled for a longer duration if you prefer. A typical 45 minute Introductory Flight costs $ 115. If you choose to pursue flight training at BVFS keep your introductory flight receipt and we will apply a $ 20 credit toward your pilot supplies or training costs when you sign up for flight lessons.
